The KRNCH Story
A proper snack for people who think "mildly spicy" is an insult. Three mates, a kitchen, and a mission to ignite the UK nut scene from the inside out.
The Journey
It started as an accident. Marcus over-seasoned a roasting pan with habanero and smoked paprika. Instead of throwing it out, we ate the whole lot standing around the hob. We haven't made anything mild since.
With nothing else to do, we spent six months perfecting heat profiles, sourcing small-batch nuts from UK suppliers, and running blind tastings on every friend who'd open their door to us. Six flavours survived.
We hand-packed 100 bags in Priya's flat. Listed on a food market app. Sold out in 4 hours. Someone in the reviews said it was "genuinely dangerous." We put that on the second batch label.
Moved into a certified commercial kitchen in Hackney. Kept the recipes identical. Hired two people — both heat fiends. Got our first stockist: a deli in Shoreditch that sells out every Thursday.
Launched online. Shipped to every postcode in the UK. Got shouted out by a food influencer with 2.1M followers who described Habanero Nuke as "the snack equivalent of a near-death experience." Sales tripled in a week.
New merch. New flavours in development. Same three people, same obsession. We still taste every batch before it ships. We still argue about whether the Wasabi Wind is too hot. (It isn't.)
What We Stand For
We don't water down our flavours for mass appeal. Every product in our range is designed to register. If your palate needs a moment to recover, that's working as intended.
UK-sourced nuts. No nasty fillers. No artificial rubbish. We read every ingredient label on every supplier we work with. If it wouldn't go in our own mouths, it doesn't go in the bag.
We're not a corporation. We're three people who genuinely love what we make. That keeps us honest, keeps us hungry, and keeps the product from going corporate-bland. Never happening.
Behind the Burn
"We exist to make the snack aisle interesting again. One dangerous bag at a time."
